Steps to apply to study at a UK university

As a South African , you must apply for a visa to come and study in the UK.

  • First you have to meet all the conditions of entry for a full-time course at a UK university (including payment of deposit and course acceptance)
  • Next you will be sent a Certificate of Acceptance for Study (CAS) number.
  • Then with the CAS number you will apply for a student visa
  • Start looking at flights

Admission requirements

  • English proficiency – thankfully having completed NSC or IEB English is generally sufficient, meaning you don’t have to do the IELTS or other English language tests.
  • Grades – You will need decent grades – 60% + normally is ideal.

Visa requirements

  • Must have an offer letter from the registered British university.
  • Evidence that you are financially stable to financially support yourself while living in the United Kingdom in the form of bank statements.
  • English language proficiency. Generally, South Africans do not need an English language test if your last medium of education was in English.
  • Parental consent is mandatory if you are under 18. Generally most students we send are over 18, so this is not a problem.

Visa application steps

  • Complete the online student visa application form with the application fee of £.
  • Submit all the required documents, make sure you have a police clearance certificate and a good health report
  • Schedule a visa appointment – mention the places in South Africa
  • Attend the visa interview and pass it.
